Tuesday, March 2nd - #4 day 6

Went for my CT scan this morning. Had to wait about 35 minutes before going in. I drank 1/2 'stuff' last night, 1 full container this morning at 7:30, then I brought the half that was left to drink right before the scan. Thank goodness the gentleman said I didn't have to finish it completely!!! The scan itself is about 5 minutes...

This is what they do...take off my big hoop earrings, leave your clothes on including shoes, drink the half container then you lay on this bed with your feet hanging off. I didn't get the 'access to my port' so they found my vein and injected this 'stuff' that makes you feel like your peeing in your pants and you get this metallic taste in your mouth. He places your arms above your head and leaves the room!...you go into this donut shaped machine - there is no way you can be close-a-phobic because it really looks like a donut --- anyway, you go through this machine and take a deep breath and then breath...the machine tells you when to do it...we did that twice and then I was done! If it took 5 minutes- that was alot. I felt like I had to sneeze with the first breath that I took....I can't imagine if I did - I don't know what we would have done...guess added one more scan.

Then we went down the hall to the cancer center to have more blood drawn...Now I have TWO band aids on both arms! Doesn't hurt but thank goodness I had long sleeves on!

All this and the waiting period is the worst! Waited 35 minutes for the scan and then about 20 minutes for the blood work. Arrived at 9:35 (late) and left there at 11:00.

Now we will find out the results of the scan tomorrow and then I start all over again on Monday...blood work - then Wednesday #5 cocktail - and Friday the pump removed.

I have a little tongue sore on the right side of my tongue but it doesn't hurt like it did last time and I have a little mouth sore on my bottom lip - feels like chapped lips. I have a few 'cuts' on my fingers (I can't remember what they call them) but they are one of the symptoms. I did have bathroomitis this morning before I left - thank goodness I was fine the rest of the day.

I'm writing this early...it's not even 5 pm...but I was up here in my office cleaning out my file cabinets....I still have a problem throwing things away! I just organized everything. I am sooo bad! I saved some of my PTO books (books that I organized everything in)...I just can't get rid of them even knowing no one would do what I did as president of the organization...but it was fun looking back at all I did - along with my executive committee!!! I didn't do everything myself!
