This is what they found with my ultrasound...Remember that this is NOT the same radiologist that has read all my CT scans, so the measurements maybe off...they measure from one area to the next and you know what that is like...yours and mine would be different too.
This is all medical words and Dr. May feels that according to the CT scan everything is okay!
Ultrasound dated 6/29/10 is compared with CTs dated 4/28/10 and 6/23/10. Previous CT demonstrates decrease in size of hepatic lesions from prior studies. There is no prior ultrasound for comparison. Apparent larger sizes of lesions on ultrasound are due to technical differences and surrounding fibrosis associated with these lesions, not apparent on CT and hence direct comparison of ultrasound and CT is no possible.
(the fibrosis - is sloughing of the lesion)
Lesion within the right lobe of the liver posteriorly measuring 1.7 x 1.1 x 1.4 cm on ultrasound corresponds to the 1.3 x 0.9 cm lesion on CT that demonstrates minimal increase in size on CT but direct comparison is not possible with ultrasound as discussed.
Lesion within the right lob of the liver inferiorly measuring 2.2 x 2.4 x 3 cm on ultrasound corresponds to the calcified lesion measured as 1 x 0.5 cm on recent CT. Increased size on ultrasound is probably due to 2 adjacent lesions, surrounding fibrosis and calcification not accounted for on CT and direct comparison is not possible. This lesion demonstrates definite decrease in size on CT.
Lesion within the left lobe of the liver measuring 1 x1 cm on ultrasound corresponds to a 0.4 x 0.3 cm lesion on recent CT that demonstrates definite decrease in size and again direct comparison is not possible.
Impression:
As detailed above, apparent larger size on ultrasound of lesions compared to recent Ct is due to technical differences and probably surrounding fibrosis associated with these lesions and hence direct comparison of CT with ultrasound is not possible. its no prior ultrasound for comparison. findings demonstrate definite decrease in size on recent CTs.
Didn't have to wait long for my shot today...my fingers are still numb...and I still have a lip sore....other than that...everything is fine!
I have a blueberry pie in the oven...one of our neighbors grow them for the health food store in town and Charlie was there checking out her telephone and she gave him LOTS of blueberries - so I hope this pie tastes as good as it smells!
