Friday, October 22nd - # 21 - day 2

#5 CT SCAN RESULTS:

Study date: 10.15.2010

CT of the chest with contrast:
Clinical History: Colorectal carcinoma. Followup. Comparison with previous study 8/18/10 is made.

Technique: Multidetector 5 mm slices were obtained from the lung apices to the adrenals with 100 ml of intravenous contrast.

Findings: The lungs are clear of pulmonary nodules, effusion, infiltrates or consolidation. The trachea and bronchial segments are unremarkable. The heart, pericardium, aorta, pulmonary arteries, thyroid and great vessels are normal. No suspicious hilar, mediastinal or axiliary adenopathy is noted.

The bones are unremarkable.

Impression: Normal study.

CT of the abdomen with contrast
Clinical History: Colorectal carcinoma. Comparison with previous study 8/18/10 is made.

Technique: Multidetector 5 mm slices were obtained from the lung bases to the iliac crests with oral and 100 ml of IV contrast. Coronal reconstructions were performed.

Findings: The lungs bases are clear.

The liver again demonstrates multiple hepatic lesions. The first is identified in the right lobe posterior segments measuring 12 x 12 mm previously measuring 11 x 10 mm. Again some peripheral puddling is suspected.

A 4 x 4 mm left anterior hepatic lesion previously measuring 3 x 3 mm.

A right lobe posterior segment lesion measuring 4 x 4 mm, previously 4 x 3 mm.

Again in the right lobe posterior segment is a lesion with calcification. A blush of contrast is identified within the lesion. Previously it measured 6 x 6 mm, today measuring 7 x 5 mm. Measuring the blush of contrast itself measures 18 x 17 mm and on the previous exam measuring 22 x 13 mm.

The spleen, pancreas and adrenals are unremarkable. Bilateral renal cysts again identified. The largest in the left upper pole measuring 21 x 20 mm.

The stomach, small and large bowel are nonobstructed. A small hiatal hernia is identified. The patient is post cholecystectomy.

The aorta, IVC, iliacs, mesenteric, renal vessels and portal veins/splenic veins are unremarkable. There is no ascites, adenopathy or free air in the abdomen.

The bones are unremarkable.

Impression:
1. Stable hepatic lesions as discussed above.
2. Bilateral simple renal cysts.
3. Post cholecystectomy.
4. Small hiatal hernia.

CT of the pelvis with contrast:

Technique: Multidetector 5 mm slices were obtained from the iliac crests to symphysis pubis with oral and 100 ml of IV contrast. Coronal reconstructions were performed.

Pelvis: No free fluid, adenopathy or masses are identified. The bladder is unremarkable. The uterus and adnexa are unremarkable.

The bones are unremarkable.

Impression: Normal study.

=====the word they were stuck on was: blush --- meaning the same as puddling.
