We had a very nice day on Christmas Day. It's so funny, now that our kids are grown...I had to tell them it's time to get up and open presents! The shoe was on the other foot! How many years was it that the kids had to be told to go back to bed because it was too early to see what Santa left!!! Memories!!! Everyone was happy with their presents!
Patty, Billy and his Mom stopped by about 11 am...we were just finishing opening our presents. It was so nice to see them and Mrs. McCallum...we haven't seen her in a long while. My Mom was still in her pj's but enjoyed their short visit. Maria stopped by and ate dinner with us - it was nice to have some extra company! The menu consisted of stuffed shells, ham, mashed potatoes, string beans, carrots (cooked in orange marmalade and raisins - mmm, good!) and a chocolate layered cake for dessert along with the delicious apple/cherry pie that Uncle Bill brought!
We celebrated Christmas with the Marra's the previous Sunday. Santa came to visit too! Little Mikey was so excited! Being the youngest, 4 years old...he loved getting all those presents from Santa! It was great having everyone here....with all this happening last year at this time, we didn't host or go anywhere for the holidays - so this year we made up for it!
Hope you all enjoyed Christmas...now onto New Years Eve...my favorite holiday! We will have a few couples here to celebrate....blow our horns, bang some pots and pans and poppers and enjoy - really enjoy, the Herring at midnight!!!!
