Friday, April 15, 2011 -- PET scan results :)

only 1 (one) lesion left!!! Thank YOU God!!! PET/CT SCAN April 14, 2011 Skull Base to Mid-Thigh F-18 PET/CT Scan Clinical History: Colorectal carcinoma with liver metastases. Restaging. Comparison with previous CT 4/1/11 is made. Comparison with previous PET CT from Morrisown Memorial Hospital 12/16/2009 is made. Comparison Exam(s): CT of the chest abdomen and pelvis 4/1/2011. Technique: 11 mci of F-18 flurodeoxglucose (FDG) was administered. After injection, 60 minutes were allowed for tracer distribution. The patient’s fasting glucose was 98 mg/dl at the time of injection. Imaging was performed on an integrated 16 slice PET CT from skull base to mid thighs. Axial, coronal and sagittal CT reconstructions were preformed without oral or IV contrast for anatomic and attenuation correction. A 3D MIP projection was reviewed and body weighted SUV’s were calculated as appropriate. Findings: Head and Neck: There is no evidence of nodal uptake or hyper metabolism in the neck. There is normal uptake in the salivary glands. Chest: There is no evidence of nodal uptake or hyper metabolism in the chest. The axilla, mediastinum and hilar regions are unremarkable. No pulmonary nodules are seen. Abdomen and Pelvis: When compared with the prior study 4/1/2011, only one of the three areas of enhancement in the liver demonstrates metabolic activity. This corresponds to the 6 x 5 mm area of low attenuation adjacent to the calcification. This is seen today on series 3 image 91. Mean SUV measures 2.9 with the max SUV 3.2. This is also significantly improved from the more remote PET comparison. There is no evidence of abdominal, retroperitoneal or pelvic side chain adenopathy. The spleen is unremarkable. Physiologic uptake is seen in the kidneys, bladder and in the bowel. Musculoskeletal: Normal FDG activity is identified in the axial and appendicular skeleton. Impression: Of the previously mentioned enhancing liver lesions on the 4/1/2011 CT, only the lesion measuring 6 x 5 mm adjacent to the calcification demonstrates metabolic activity. Max SUV measures 3.2. Mean SUV measures 2.9.
