Had our visit late this afternoon. Dr. May highly suggests that I have the surgery. She still hasn't spoken to the surgeon (Dr. Diehl). She said she is going to 'corner' him tomorrow and talk to him. She will call me to let me know what his suggestion to her is.
Dr. May is going along with what I told her that he said in 'our verbal telephone conversation'. She feels that 66% is a much better number than 0%.....yes, cancer could come back and yes, cancer can be cured in the liver too. She also said that if I'm not satisfied with what Dr. Diehl says that maybe I should have a second opinion from another surgeon - the only one being (in this 'area') in NYC.
So, I'm still not 100% sure of what I will end up doing but I am leaning towards having the surgery.
If I don't have the surgery I would have to continue with chemo until I show signs of toxicity then have a few weeks off and then on again. Dr. May feels if the lesions are still small - surgery at this time is the best solution.
This woman is such a positive person and takes so much time to talk to you.
