Well, I would have had my surgery today until the doctor called to postpone it until next week. They have this 'new' machine that is a needle that burns the tumor. The doctor sounds very positive on this procedure...pin pointing it exactly in the middle of the tumor is a good thing rather than trying to burn the whole tumor out.
So, another week of being anxious....well, not right away...I'm calm as can be right now...I'm sure I will begin to get nervous on Sunday and definitely by Monday!!!
It was so nice to eat a cooked meal last night. I would have been on a liquid diet the day before surgery. I made chicken cutlet parm with a side of spaghetti....delicious! I think there are two pieces left for lunch today...unless Charlie gets to it first!
The incision will be the size of your hand...if you hold up your left hand and put your thumb up and hold out your pointer finger (like a gun) and put it right under your rib cage above your belly button....that's the scar I will have.
Doctor says that I will feel like I was hit by a truck - a small truck....I feel so good right now - as before any surgery to know that I will be in enough pain for morphine does in no way excite me right now!
This schedule is actually better, Nicholas will be home (not away on business) as the rest of 'the gang'....not that I want them to be there everyday...it is so boring just sitting and watching 'me'...and then knowing you have to travel at least one hour before getting home.
This will be my summer vacation....what a great place to go! NYC - Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital!!!!
