Went for my #9 cocktail today. Had to have some blood work done to make sure my white blood count was up...and it was! They want me to go back next Monday and Tuesday to have the same shot....Monday I had the shot about 2 pm and woke up with a head ache on Tues. morning. It wasn't bad it was like a wave....there for a few minutes and gone...then back again...not bad enough to take Tylenol. Then Tuesday had the shot about noon time and woke up this morning with pain in my lower back at 5:30 am! It wasn't bad - just uncomfortable. When I got up at 7 I began having some pain in my left hip...this is one of the side effects from that shot. Again, it wasn't all that bad - just uncomfortable and I didn't take a Tylenol UNTIL the nurse suggested it at the office...So, I took two Tylenol about 11 am and have felt fine since. I can't believe my body doesn't react worse. Thank God!!!
Okay, now I am a bit depressed....I asked the oncologist how much longer I have to have chemo. Charlie and I heard her talk directly to us but came out saying she said something else. We kind of heard her say that I will continue chemo - for a long time! But she also said after the next CT scan in eight weeks she will evaluate me again.
Because I have stage IV - this cancer will never leave my body...it may show up in the liver or another organ...may not be right away...but that possibility is there. Now, you think I should be strong?!!! This isn't what I wanted to hear. She was very positive of my results so far and also said we will continue the chemo as long as my body can handle it. The next option maybe surgery if the lesions/tumors do not shrink completely OR maybe radiation. But, again, it is still too soon to make any decision.
I have to dwell on the point that she (my doctor) is very happy with the results so far.
I DO believe in miracles....and I'm sure God will help me get through this...with YOUR prayers too! GOD WILL HEAL ME! I DO BELIEVE!!!
On a lighter note...Paul will be in a 'new' movie...yes, a movie...unless they cut that scene! It is called The Oranges. He went today to NY....by Scarsdale...he stayed with one of his 'old' roommates at Ramapo and left at 4:30 am! Setting was at a college (Brooklyn??? - can't remeber) on one of the fields...His role: He played Frisbee with Oliver Pratt!!!! Paul said they shot several scenes and had to change clothing....of course this is a winter scene and it was so hot today...poor Paul was dressed with a head band, sweat shirt and thermal long sleeved undershirt...but had the shorts on! Talked to him too but didn't get an autograph...they say he is not suppose to ask them....if you go to the web and type in 'the oranges' you will see all the actors. Hugh Lorie (the doctor from House) is in this movie too...Paul didn't get to see him today...but there were several other woman actresses that he met.
