Wednesday, April 6th - #32???

Good news....We (Charlie and I) went for my scheduled cocktail #32 at 10 am today...spoke with Dr. May and she decided that because of my face being red (another story continued below) there maybe too many toxins in my body and I should consult with an oncologist surgeon to see what his suggestion is.... Red face - Dr. May asked me NOT to wear any make-up or moisturizer for at least two days to see if this was the cause...I think it isn't the makeup, as I don't wear any foundation...just blush on my cheeks...I do wear eye makeup....Dr. May just feels it's too much in my body and just showing up on my face and no place else. Oncologist surgeon - I made an appointment for Monday, April 18th (Charlie's 60th birthday) to consult with him to see if I can either have pinpoint chemo - directly into the lesion or surgery. He may feel that the lesions are too small for surgery. Dr. May isn't sure of what is next. She does refer her patients to this particular doctor in Morristown and said he does a lot of these surgery's! Which is good. Now I have to wait two weeks... Cocktails - Dr. May feels that I may have had enough chemo. My CEA is down to 24!!!! Which is GREAT news!!!! I would continue to have chemo but not every other week...but she wants to see what the surgeon says. My CT scan report - well she feels that the doctor just happened to 'add' gallbladder as matter of fact....it was something that is usually stated in the reports so she feels it was just a typo. The word anastomosis means the surgical incision is seen in the colon...it didn't have to be reported...but he was a different doctor that read this scan.... Blood work numbers - all are good! Magnesium and Potassium and even my white blood count numbers are perfect!!! My blood pressure is a bit high - but that maybe from the prednisone or my 'excessive' weight gain....I eat way too much junk food! The next paragraph will tell you something!! So, Charlie and I came home - after stopping to buy sneakers (Marlee chewed my sneaker to the point that they are now a chew toy and I need sneakers to walk!!!) and then came home, ate lunch and we went to Sam's Club to buy some 'goodies' for HIS concession stand at the sports complex (baseball is beginning! and people enjoy eating!!). I was able to go because the young lady was here for my Mom....it was a very enjoyable day!!! Especially NOT having to have a cocktail!!! Being on the clinical study --- it may end here...due to protocol....I can miss 4 sessions...and today was the 3rd. If I go off the clinical study I don't have to go for bloodwork (just have a CBC - I think, on the day of chemo) and I wouldn't get the Panatumob (chemo drug) and I won't need a CT scan every 6 weeks. Now I just have to wait for my appointment with the surgeon to see what his suggestion is. Don't look for an update before then...unless something unusual 'pops up'...I will email you to let you know if I do enter onto my blog. Thank YOU again!!! and again!!! for your prayers and positive thoughts!!!! I truly appreciate YOU all taking the time to pray for me. Believe in Miracles!!!!
