Friday, January 20th - PET scan results

I still believe in miracles...but it may not happen to me. Sorry if I sound a little depressed but I truly believed all these lesions would be out of me....Guess God has His reasons.

Dr. May took a photo on her phone and emailed it to me...so it's a little difficult for me to read...if there are any typo's or words that are hard to understand... it's just me trying to type this....

Skull Base to Mid Thigh

Technique...too hard to read...

Findings: Head and Neck. There is no evidence of nodal uptake or hypermetabolism in the neck. There is normal uptake in the salivary glands.

Chest: There is no evidence of nodal uptake or hyper metabolism in the chest. The axially, mediastinum and hilar (something) are unremarkable. No pulmonary nodules are seen.

Abdomen and Pelvis (this is hard to read....) Again identified is uptake in the liver in the posterior segment of the right lobe. It has a maximum SUV value of 5.4 which is decreased from previous of 9.8. A suble area of density is seen on the CT scan measuring 12 x 14 mm corresponding to this lesion. There is no evidence of abdominal (something) or pelvis side chain adenopathy. The liver and spleen are unremarkable. (something) uptake is seen in the kidney, bladder and bowel.

Impression:
1. Hyperbolic lesion again identified in the posterior aspect of the right lobe of the liver. This demonstrates a mild decrease in the SUV value suggestive of improvement of the metastatic lesion. No new melastatic lesions are identified.

================

So, it looks like there is only one lesion and it did shrink a little....I think....I will talk to Dr. May to actually find out what this means. In the mean time...I will NOT begin chemo right away (what I want!) so my hair will finally begin growing back...I'm still loosing it. I'm almost ready to put on a wig!!! THIS is what is depressing to me! Actually seeing myself looking like this! Who cares what's inside of me!!!
