Today is my LAST DAY of chemo....praying that I am done 'forever'!!!! I do return on Wednesday to have my pump disconnected.
Before leaving, I spoke with Dr. May (who again feels this last 3 cycles have done it's job) and she asked me to go for a PET scan in a week or two and we will see what is happening inside me. She also asked me to have a complete blood work drawn on Wednesday.
I've been going for chemo since the beginning of 2010 and they always 'connect' the cocktail to my port...well, this is the first time that when the nurse accessed my port (putting the needle in)...it hurt! I asked to have it 're-done' and another nurse disconnected the 'first' and 're-connected'....and it felt so much better. It felt like the first needle was hitting a nerve...it just hurt my underarm, shoulder and I even felt it in my jaw....Knowing I wouldn't be back for 46 hours.....I'd better say something!!! So glad I did!
Now, after two hours, my legs feel heavy and just knowing I have to go back downstairs is a bit scary...do I go down on my butt or just go down - one step at a time....hmmmmm. If I remember in my next blog...I'll let you know how I went downstairs...LOL
