Tuesday, February 9th - #3

Well, today would have been day 13 of treatment #2...but due to the weather forecast I went this morning at 9:15 am....It was so weird...Paul came with me today and when we walked into the reception area - no one was there! except the secretaries...but I still had to wait about 10 minutes...I was finished by 1:30 and now I go back on Thursday to remove the pump. Paul thought he'd go work out in Hackettstown but decided to stay. He didn't pack a lunch so he went to the local deli to buy a sandwich - he came back and ate it in my suite! He even brought me back this huge piece of chocolate chip cookie!!! Yummmy!

I have a few symptoms already...guess that's why I'm writing this now. My fingers are a bit numb - when I went to feed the dogs and was taking their food from the refrigerator...my finger tips tingled!!! I immediately put on gloves and then Charlie walked in and I had him finish. I'm also getting 'charlie horses' in my hands and when I got home, I got them on my feet....doesn't hurt...but it's just muscle cramping and a weird sensation! I remember having that with the last treatment but didn't think anything of it...it only lasted that day...but I did get home alot later then too. I ate dinner then went to bed...this time I ate lunch when I got home and now it's dinner time...so I will be up a lot longer. I also got the 'sensation' when taking a first bite of my sandwich and then a few minutes later when I had a few crackers....what a 'sensation'!!!

I'm tired but I think its because I got up so early...when I'm moving around I still have energy so I don't think it is a symptom right now.

I met one of my neighbors at the cancer center - I may have written this before - she has colon cancer and it didn't spread to any of her organs so she is doing chemo as preventative treatment...she began in August, is about 7 to 8 years older than myself and has missed a few 'cocktails' due to vacation and cell count being too low/high (whichever). She looks great - complained about the tingling in her fingers too...she is an artist - uses her hands for everything! She said she lost a few hairs but still has her own - no wig for her. This would be the third treatment for me and if I will loose my hair - this will be the time...I'm not panicking - yet...I am prepared! A Girl Scout at heart!

Other than the tingling and charlie horses in my hands/feet...I'm doing fine. This is posted at 5:44 pm.

Charlie and Christopher are still working at putting the paneling up. It looks really nice. Of course I always have to add my opinion...the paneling looks better where he had to buy extra and didn't stain it...but the other pieces that are up are already stained...so Charlie has to stain the others...wow, that was a rambling on sentence! No stain made it look larger and the stained makes it look closer/smaller....but what the heck - let the 'new' owners worry about it. All the houses that we have been looking at in S.C. - houses that people live in - have walls that are bright red or deep green or deep blue...so we will have our hands full - if we buy a house that people are moving out of....new house would be 'new' colors...and I like the cooler colors...even though we now have that deep green wall - but it's only one wall that is dark. It must be another symptom - chemo brain...rambling........

Getting ready for our BIG snow storm! Not that I had to do anything different but I/we will be home all day tomorrow! Poor Charlie - gets to shovel what the plow doesn't get!
