Thursday, Nov. 18th - #23 - day 1

Having a bit of a problem with my computer...but I think, with the help of 'Doctor John' WE fixed the problem!

Had my cocktail #23 yesterday and all went well. I spoke to the oncologist, Dr. May, and asked if she thinks the plateau that I reached will stay the same. Her answer was that each individual doesn't respond the same and to be honest she really wasn't sure if there will be a change or not. With that, I asked if I stop the clinical study what will be my next option. She said that she would like to try surgery to remove the lesions in the liver - meaning = cut open!!! NOT me! I'm not ready for that. Guess I will stay with the chemo until the lesions are all gone! She also said that I am a perfect candidate to stay on this clinical study.

Paul said something a while back about a NYC hospital where they do lasier surgery...I have to ask him about that again...if that could be done...then maybe, just maybe I might consider that option....

Had blood work drawn on Monday the 15th...the nurse that drew the blood thought she found a good vein in my arm and wow! she got me good...I have a bruise that is about 3 inches long and goes from 1/2 inch to 1 inch in lenght! and then she took the blood from my hand (I have nice veins there) and I still got a bit of a bruise...she did finally get all the vials filled!!! This is the same nurse that gave me the wrong shot to bring up the white cells...hmmmm...does that tell ME something? Like, do I tell her I don't want her to touch me again? or being good natured person that I am...I will probably take a deep breath and let her do her thing...

The numbness/tingling is just in the tips of my fingers - so I think they are getting better...but it's the finger cuts that hurt!!!

Went Christmas shopping today. I couldn't believe that I was out as long as I was...from 12:30 to 6 pm!!! That's a long day for me. I think I'm done...except for a few stocking stuffers and maybe two more gifts....Now I have to work on a photo for a Christmas card.

Charlie had his first meeting as a volunteer for the Green Township Fire Dept. tonight...so I stopped to get dinner at Kentucy Fried Chicken...no time to cook!

Funny how Charlie use to get mad at me for not being home with my volunteer work...now the shoe is on the other foot! He's volunteering ALL the time! and is hardly ever home...which sometimes is a good thing.....???
