Just came back from the oncology surgeon....
Going for an MRI on Friday, April 29th...to see if the lesion(s) is/are still there - he's looking for five (5) - even though this last scan showed one (1)...and also to see if there are any more (that maybe hiding) that the scans didn't pick up.
The lesion that can be seen is located behind the lung and hard to get to...radio frequency albration (?spell) treatment is an option but surgery would be recommended first... Before surgery he wants to make sure all the other lesions are gone - if they are there - they were all on the top of the liver which is easily acceptable.
The only problem that I am encountering right now is that he is only 'out of network'...so, I'm trying to get my insurance company to give us some kind of access code stating Dr. Diehl can do this procedure.
I think all this is what was talked about.....very confusing!!! and now a bit frustrating with this insurance thing!
Just called and spoke with Megan, one of the clinical nurses and she feels this is verrrry positive! As long as the surgeon feels he can do this - it's great news....
My feelings?....of course trying to keep positive...but I just don't like to have another surgery done!!!! and a 'full' cut too! Unless he see's only 1 lesion and can do it via radio frequency albration... I may still have to be put under because they would have to deflate my lung to get to the liver....sounds like a gory movie to me!!!!
