Thursday, October 27th - week 1 - 1A & 1B done!

burr...it's chilly....not only outside but inside too!

Had my cocktail this week. Monday I had my 2 hour 'drip' - done in 3 hours which included the pre-meds. Wednesday I had my 1 1/2 'drip' and my pump flushed and disconnected (carrying that little pack is so uncomfortable!). I don't have to go for the Neupagin shot today....

Dr. May was back at work on Wednesday and she talked to me regarding the PET/MRI scan...what we will be doing now...chemo for 3 cycles = 1 cycle is 2 times or once a month...so I should be finished in December...then I will go for another scan to see the outcome.....one step at a time...not sure what would be next. Dr. May feels very positive that I can beat this. That was really nice of her to actually say that...she didn't have to say anything.

I asked if the surgeon had taken more of my liver out - would I have gotten these two lesions...she said probably not...guess they were already in the blood stream and they would have come out someplace in the liver...so she feels Dr. Allen did the right thing by taking out what was actually needed.

I went alone to both visits and to be completely honest, I feel better than having to have my support person tag along for several hours two times in one week. I keep myself busy and with the girls walking in all the time...it does go fast.

Not sure if I said that on Monday's they have a 'free' lunch cart that goes around....So, I don't have to make a lunch and on Wednesday, I'm only there for a few hours and I don't need anything then either!

One of the 'new' drugs says that I can have hair loss and/or diarrhea...so far, so good....but not sure how long it would actually take for it to 'kick in'....I think the paperwork says about 10 days after treatment begins....I do have my wig that I bought 2 years ago, but I would really prefer to keep what I have....but that would be a 'symptom'.

So far, I had the salvation - which ended about 5 hours after (on Monday) and now my mouth is 'dry' - not really but not watering like it was! Yesterday I felt fine...did laundry, collected the garbage, made lunch and did all my chores - so I'm not even that tired either.....hopefully I will stay feeling this way for the entire 3 months!

That's my update for today! If I tend to re-post what I already have written - sorry...but I don't have the time (nor do I want to) read what I already posted.....call me lazy...or heck, just call me a 'talk-a-holic'!!!
