All is well on the home front! We were (Paul and I) in the city today and after coming through the Lincoln Tunnel a short way...we heard that there was an earthquake! Didn't feel a thing and soooo glad we didn't know what was going on while driving through the tunnel!!!!
Had all 45 staples taken out. Feels so much better but still hurts a bit. There was a small lump/bump that I felt by my rib cage and the surgeon said it was the internal stitches. He 'highly' suggested that I now go back to my oncologist (Dr. May) in two weeks. He did say that I am now 'disease free' but because the cancer is in my blood, it may come back. He thinks I should do some more chemo and then do a scan every three months - to be on the safe side. And here I thought I was all done! He asked me to go back to him in a month but I talked myself right out of that one! I told him that even though I like him, I hate the commute...so he said as long as I'm going back to Dr. May - he'll be okay with that. He was so cute too...when he came into the room he said that I looked really well to! I think he was seeing alot of patients that needed surgery today...so seeing me made him feel a little better - knowing he did a great job!!!!
He wasn't at all surprised that I don't sleep well...but he said that will change! He also suggested that I still don't lift anything for another month. That's the hard part! Lifting is trying to get the gallon of milk off the refrigerator door (it will go bad before I'm able to lift it!) and trying to cook pasta is a little difficult. I have to add the water - a cup at a time and then drain it a scoop at a time...workable...but timely. I told Paul he will have to continue vacuuming for another month and Charlie will have to bring up his own clothes too! (It's so hard for him to remember to bring them up on his way upstairs - always having it done for him...poor guy!)
Again, there is absolutely no way that I would have accomplished this state of being disease free without all YOUR help, support and prayers. We can all say that 'prayers do work'!!! and 'miracles do happen'!!! I am proof of it!
